Hunters Hill Food and Wine Festival

Great food and wine since 1999

It is with immense disappointment that we advise that the Hunters Hill Food and Wine Festival will cease to operate with immediate effect, at least for the foreseeable future.

For well over 20 years, this event has raised much needed funds for our local charity and not-for-profit groups, notably Sydney Community Services, Hunters Hill Ryde Men’s Shed, Hunters Hill State Emergency Services and St John’s Ambulance, Gladesville Branch.

However, since COVID, the costs associated with staging the event – in particular the stalls, tables and seating, electrical generators, toilet facilities etc – have risen to the extent that it is no longer a viable proposition. Put simply, if we were to hold the event in 2023, the money we would normally donate to charity would be swallowed up by the cost of infrastructure.

The organising committee has spent considerable time and effort attempting to reassess and rearrange the way in which the event is presented, however, the compromises required severely diminish the spectacle of the event we have come to know.

Naturally, the charities we have supported over the years still need assistance with funding in order to deliver their highly valued services, and we will be considering other ways to achieve this.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all the wineries and other stallholders, as well as all attendees who have supported us over the last 20 or so years. Your contribution to this community has been substantial.
